The Devil's Hand is a natural defense that Haythatchers use to protect their eggs from enemies. It has veins coming from its core which give it elasticity. It is sharp, with barbs poking out along the edges. Commonly, it is folded up inside an egg, but as soon as the shell is broken, the Devil's Hand comes bursting out. This way, if a Rat Snake or Rosary Snake eats it, the egg will explode it its stomach, and when it tries to cough it back up, the barbs will just dig deeper into the stomach and eventually tear it open. Following, a kind of poison inside a black, strong-smelling part will leak into the snake's body.
